Rank of Organ Pipes: 3-RANK REPEATING MIXTURE22-26-29, 25 notes, J W Walker, best spotted metal
The repeating mixture was a budget way of providing a 3-rank mixture for a small organ. It was especially used in the common extension organs of the 1950s to 1970s. The best makers of these were Walker, who put them (like this one) in their “Walker Positive” organs. These were always of first-class workmanship and of high-grade stout spotted metal (probably over 40% tin). The advantage was that these stops were economical on spaceThis one is in beautiful condition. It came from a Catholic Church in Coventry, where they simply had no further use for a pipe organ. Wind pressure is about 3 inches. The date is 1966

One Note, Top C 1-5-8 Uses Mixture note 25My details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questions. I have a surplus of pipes and organ parts at the moment, including some ranks from this organ which are being listed at the moment. Do feel free to call me if you have any requests for pipework (details on final photo)
This rank can be sent by Courier for 15 (UK – higher rates for abroad of course). Should you wish to collect, I live 5 minutes from Junction 24, M62, so quite easy to access.
Just a footnote: I do get quite a few requests from private contacts outside Ebay. If one of these wants to buy any of my listed ranks of pipes, I would take them off Ebay during a listing and sell them privately. Once a bid has been placed however, I will always leave the listing to run its course. The moral of the story? – If you want an item, place a bid on it sooner rather than at the last minute.
