Rank of Organ Pipes: DULCIANA, 8ft
THE ORGAN has been dismantled for some years, but came originally from a Lincolnshire Church. Built in 1865. This organ was by the celebrated Hull firm of FORSTER AND ANDREWS, and this Dulciana is of the quality you would expect from F&A (Though we can’t be absolutely certain that it wasn’t added later).This is a nice old-fashioned Dulcianas, not narrow-scaled and stringy, but of quite a generous scale, more akin to a small diapason, gently blown. The tone is therefore warm and mellow.This is a Tenor C stop, (which borrowed its bottom octave from the organ’s Stopped Diapason). If this is a problem, we could probably find an 8ft octave of wooden pipes to complete the rank)The wind pressure is about 3″. The key compass was 56 notes (C to G), so this rank has 44 pipes. The pipes are in excellent condition.The rank is of pipe metal (probably 90% lead, 10% tin) for its entire lengthMy details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questionsThis rank is too heavy to be sent by carrier, so it is “collection only”. The pipes are at my home in West Yorkshire, just minutes from Junction 24 of the M62.
Just a final note:- Because I have so many other customers, people independent of Ebay, often ask me for a set of pipes or parts while a listing is running. My practice is often to remove the listing for them if there are no bids on the item, but never to remove the listing after a bid has been placed. For this reason if you are interested in any of my organ pipes or parts, I strongly recommend you put a first bid on an item rather than leaving your bidding to the last minute!
