THE ORGAN was in a South Yorkshire church, and built by the Leeds Builder ABBOTT AND SMITH in 1900. The wind pressure is about 3″, and the key compass is 61 notes (C to C). Like most Abbott and Smith pipework, this is well made and of good quality.This Open Diapason was formerly on the Swell Organ. It is of full compass (61 notes) but to fit it into the swellbox, Abbott and Smith made everything from Tenor C upwards of pipe metal, then bottom B,A#,A are of zinc; the remaining basses CC to GG# (9 pipes) are wooden stoppered. These 9 did not share a bass with the neighbouring Gedackt, but had there own dedicated pipes, voiced more like a diapason.My details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questionsThis rank is too heavy and vulnerable to be sent by carrier, so it is “collection only”.
