Rank of Organ Pipes:   OPEN DIAPASON 8ft
The organ, from a closed church in Cumbria, is by LAYCOCK AND BANNISTER. these are of excellent quality, as you would expect from L+B.
This one is a real Swell Organ open – a diapason in tone, but with some higher harmonics, caused by the slotting in the tops of the pipes, and by the rather nice box-beards on the pipes of the lower half of the rank.however, this rank has been made with a stopped wooden bass (12 notes) which blends well with the rest of the rank. This could be good news, for example, for someone building a house organ and wanting an Open Diapason, but without the height to fit in any 8ft pipes.
It is on about 3″ wind pressure, and has a compass of 56 notes (extra metal trebles could be supplied to some wanting a 58 or 61 note compass)My details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questions. I have a surplus of pipes at the moment, including some ranks from this organ which are being listed at the moment. Do feel free to call me if you have any requests for pipework.
This rank would need to be collected as it is too bulky and havy for my carrier.  I live 5 minutes from Junction 24, M62, so quite easy to access. For a winning bidder from the south of England, I am making several trips in the next 4 months (virus permitting) to Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Hampshire and Dorset, so could liaise with a buyer.
Just a footnote: I do get quite a few requests from private contacts outside Ebay. If one of these wants to buy any of my listed ranks of pipes, I would take them off Ebay during a listing and sell them privately. Once a bid has been placed however, I will always leave the listing to run its course. The moral of the story? – If you want an item, place a bid on it sooner rather than at the last minute.
