Rank of Organ Pipes:   PICCOLO,  2ft
The organ, from a closed church in Cumbria, is by LAYCOCK AND BANNISTER. these are of excellent quality, as you would expecty from L+B, and were bright and fluty when played in the organ.
This one is really rather unusual. Normally a 2ft Piccolo, though a flute-toned stop, will be of pipe metal. This one however is of OPEN WOOD throughout, except for a very few metal treble pipes, in the range where it is hard to make such tiny pipes out of wood.It is (as you would expect from a 2ft pipes) of quite narrow scale. Effectively it is really a narrow scale 2ft WALDFLUTE.
It is on about 3″ wind pressure, and has a compass of 56 notes (extra metal trebles could be supplied to some wanting a 58 or 61 note compass)My details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questions. I have a surplus of pipes at the moment, including some ranks from this organ which are being listed at the moment. Do feel free to call me if you have any requests for pipework.
This rank would be best collected, though could be sent by carrier for about 25. However, these pipes are quite delicate, so a personal visit is probably ideal. I can decide the best course with the winning bidder
I live 5 minutes from Junction 24, M62, so quite easy to access. For a winning bidder from the south of England, I am making several trips in the next 4 months (virus permitting) to Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Hampshire and Dorset, so could liaise with a buyer.
Just a footnote: I do get quite a few requests from private contacts outside Ebay. If one of these wants to buy any of my listed ranks of pipes, I would take them off Ebay during a listing and sell them privately. Once a bid has been placed however, I will always leave the listing to run its course. The moral of the story? – If you want an item, place a bid on it sooner rather than at the last minute.
