Rank of Organ Pipes: PRINCIPAL, 4ft
Full compass, 61 pipes
Quite a reasonable Principal. The the rank is in plain pipe-metal, Pressure assumed to be around 3″. At some point in the past this rank must have been a 56-note rank; it was inserted in place of replaced a Harmonic Flute rank, so thetop 5 pipes of this have been left in to nake up the compass. You really can’t tell at that pitch!
The pipes came from the organ of a Yorkshire Methodist Church, which was rebuilt by Fitton and Hayey many decades ago. But the original builder is a mystery. It does have Binns bellows weights, so Binns is a possibility.Apologies for the lousy photos – I was having a bad day with my exposures!!

These pipes have to be collected by the purchaser – the longest is about 9ft long! For buyers in the Midland and the South, I am intending travelling in the next few months to Dorset, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire etc, so could arrange to bring these pipes.
Just a footnote: I do get quite a few requests from private contacts outside Ebay. If one of these wants to buy any of my listed ranks of pipes, I would take them off Ebay during a listing and sell them privately. Once a bid has been placed however, I will always leave the listing to run its course. The moral of the story? – If you want an item, place a bid on it sooner rather than at the last minute.
