RANK OF ORGANPIPES   STOPPED DIAPASON 8ft/4ft EXTENSION
Absolutely lovely pipework from a 1966 extension organ by JW Walker. The ranks from this little organ are probably the best quality pipes that have been through my hands in many years. The whole Stopped Diapason / Stopped Flute rank is stoppered wood. Most of the rank is in mahogany, and the basses seem to be a lighter hardwood. Pipes speak well, stoppers fit well, and there is no damage. Apart from a bit of dust, these seem like new, even though they are 50 years old! Walkers (in their Ruislip days) were among the highest quality organs turned out in the 20th century. That quality shows itself in the pipework from this organ. The organ as it stood had 85 pipes in this rank (So it extended 16ft, 8ft, 4ft, on a 61-note compass). I have chosen to separate the bottom 16ft Bourdon octave, and sell it separately (see later). It is on its own electric chests. I was not absolutely sure whether the buyer of the Stopped Diapason would definitely want the 16ft octave. If you are interested in this, please call me to discuss rather than engaging in endless typing! Meanwhile be clear that this listing is from 8ft C upwards. The organ was already disconnected and dismantled when I got to it, but I believe the pressure would be 3 – 31/2 inchesAlso available from this organ (Call please for these) are…….    1. The 12-note 16ft Pedal Bourdon pipes, and electric chests. Again, lovely hardwood, great condition
    2.  Principal rank, 8/4/2, Spotted metal
    3.  Spotted metal Chimney Flute rank, 8/4/2
    4.  The organ’s reservoirs – 2 quite small schwimmers
    5.  The electric Swell Engine (Whiffle-tree I think)
    6.  Lots of KA Direct Pallet MagnetsMy details are on the final photo – do call if you have questions. Collection in person is essential as these pipes are large and would cost a fortune to send by carrierLocation:  Elland, West Yorkshire. 2 minutes from Junction 24, M62, 15 minutes from Leeds, 45 minutes from Manchester, 45 minutes from Sheffield.  NB. If you live in the South, Yorkshire is a long way. I shall be in Reading 25-27 February, and could bring the pipes this far if a deal is done.
