Rank of Organ Pipes: SWELL BOURDON, 16ftTHE ORGAN was in a South Yorkshire church, and built by the Sheffield Builder KEATES in around 1870. The wind pressure is about 3″, and the key compass is 56 notes (C to G). The pipes seems to be split-free and of good quality. Lower notes are of stopped wood, breaking into stopped metal for the treble octaves. The bottom 16 pipes were fixed to the outer sides of the swellbox (and are still there) so they have their own pneumatic chests. There are no dedicated chests for the rest of the rank as it was on the main swell soundboard. This should probably be called a Lieblich Bourdon. The pipes are reasonable narrow scaledMy details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questionsObviously these pipes are too nig and heavy to be sent by carrier. They can be collected from the church atRossington, south of DoncasterJust a final note:- Because I have so many other customers, people independent of Ebay, often ask me for a set of pipes or parts while a listing is running. My practice is often to remove the listing for them if there are no bids on the item, but never to remove the listing after a bid has been placed. For this reason if you are interested in any of my organ pipes or parts, I strongly recommend you put a first bid on an item rather than leaving your bidding to the last minute!
