Very impressive Reed Organ made by Bell Organ & Piano Co. Ltd. of Guelph, Ontario, Canada between 1888 and 1907.
Bell was Canada’s top reed organ manufacturer.
It has 5 octaves, 14 stops, 2 swells. Operated by two pump pedals. Size: 4ft wide, 3ft 6 in high, 2ft deep.
The cabinet is in excellent condition with no splits. It has all stop labels though the text on one has faded. There is some slight water stain from a pot plant on the top right (see pic) though this can be restored. All decorative carving and decoration is intact and the pedals are in great slightly worn order.
The instrument can be played but will need some work to make good.
It’s collection only and is heavy. The winning bidder will need a van to collect but has easy access with 1 step in to the property.
Viewing is possible. Sold as seen.
This is a reluctant sale as the floor space is needed. 100% of the price paid for this organ will be donated to the Mary Stevens Hospice, Stourbridge.
