This Rhodes Stage 73 Mk1 was imported by KKGB from Florida six months ago, on container #23. It is a standard passive model – no mains. It was born 40 years ago..in December 1978!! A Xmas Rhodes!! It has been partially re-tolexed,extensively refurbed, keeping everything as original as possible. Most assemblies extracted ~ cleaned and polished ~ checked for correct length, correct tuning spring, square-end/straighten the tine (two replaced), then fitted with our magic grommets, with correct mounting springs. This results on an incredible 10-second sustain…… All 73 red p/ups checked & lined up correctly (two replaced).The original individually numbered wooden keys are now all cleaned, regulated and replaced using correct lubing on the pins.They are still in great condition, with NO cracks or chips. There is a top lid that houses the hardware and protects the keys in transit. NEW steel legs and NEW metal pedal/rod complete the package.As the “miracle mod” was fitted as standard, the action is light & fast, with the required “WAZZ” when played ff.Sounds like:- play “Babylon Sisters” (legato dreamtime) & “Brown Cow” (rare solo) by Steely Dan….or “Get back” (rockin’ solo) by Beatles. This will illustrate how versatile a Rhodes can be……A Rhodes electric piano is an instrument for life.
