Roland EP30 Rare Analogue Electric Piano 1974 . Condition is Used. Collection in person only.This is a very rare Roland EP30 electronic piano, released in 1974 and the worlds FIRST velocity sensitive electronic keyboard.Voice architecture is built around the LM3216 that the SH-1000.Its controls are basic… You’ve got a pitch adjustment on the front, a volume knob which can be pulled out to turn OFF velocity sensing, a “tone” knob that (sounds) like a low pass filter, a bass volume knob, and vibrato controls for depth and speed. Voices available include a bass preset which can be played on the lower 1.5 octaves along with Piano I, Piano II, Harpsichord I, and Harpsichord II setting.
Its overall in very good condition, including the integral tolex case/lid, and its blue felt lining.
The only faults are a high C key that sounds but doesnt sustain, so it makes a plink type sound at the correct pitch but doesnt sustain beyond that. The pedal sustain seems to be faulty too, I disconnected it quite a while ago but from what I remember it was quite noisy and distorted when engaged. The input might just need some contact cleaner but I couldnt say for certain.
Collection only due to weight and the age of the complex internals which wont fair well from a rough courier.
