Roland Fantom S88 Keyboard/Piano Workstation. Originally bought when released in 2003, this Fantom S88 has more than served me well.The hammer weighted keys still play as well today as the day I first played them.The majority of its life has been in my studio and well as a handfull of gigs over the years. But dont let this put you off as it has been incredibly looked after.The S88 is a rock solid piece of gear….and very heavy (25kg approx)The screen looks good as new as it had an internal clean a few years back.The knobs turn perfectly well. When I first got the S88 I thought they felt a little loose but this was just how they were. I was comparing them to another synth I had which had tighter rotarys. All synths/keyboards vary.The buttons and lights all work and light up. I find the “ENTER” button area takes a little more pressure now and again but works fine.
In the early years I found myself pressing buttons thinking they weren’t working, only to find out that the button has no function in the whichever menu item I was on. The more you get familar with the menu and functions the less that will happen.There is a sticker of the SRX World Expansion where the SRX expansions go.
