Condition is Used but in excellent overall condition as this has been used only at home 99% of the time along with a Korg O1W PRO/X which is also for sale separately (it is not included in the price of the G1000).
The G1000 works perfectly apart from the internal Zip storage drive. The onboard floppy drive is working perfectly and provides options for loading additional styles and transferring midi songs in addition to the ability to connect via the MIDI cables.
I have a collection of several thousand additional backing styles from various sequencers, many of which I’ve sorted through and tested/played on the G1000. They can be altered in the G1000 to suit the choice of onboard sounds. These can supplied in addition to the G1000 via an internet transfer as they’re on a Mac hard disc. They are partially sorted into various categories and can be selected and downloaded to the G1000 via the floppy, as required. I also have a number of Roland Style discs for the Zip drive if it’s decided to replace the onboard Zip.
A Roland FC7 Foot Controller (not included here) is also available for sale separately at the time of publishing this sale. The FC-7 enables hands free control of Start, Stop, Fill and other Backing Style changes. Other customisable foot pedal connections are also available along with the connection for a damper pedal (not included here).
The G1000 was Roland’s flagship backing arranger keyboard and provides a great deal of flexibility in providing instant chord following backing rhythms (Styles) and also the ability to play and record standard midi arrangements. The MIDI capability allow it to be used as a MIDI controller and the onboard sequencer allows performances to be stored with selected voices and recreated in a set. Chords sequences can also be recorded in memory very easily, which makes for very good adhoc backing rhythms to then play along with on the keyboard with two hands now free for other parts.
