This is a flagship model from Roland, bought a few years ago. The build quality is exceptionally high: better than most new digital pianos today. This instrument is capable of (almost) anything. Clean, precise action (PHA III) with synthetic ivory keys and immersive, realistic sound – projected through four powerful and well-balanced speakers. Particularly great for classical/jazz music, and equally well suited to a complete beginner or an advanced musician. Excellent platform for creativity – loads of different sample sets (300 different instruments) and general MIDI compliant. Three-track recording, built in metronome, split keyboard and loads of other features, super-configurable. Excellent modelling of a real piano sound, including sympathetic string resonance and a ‘Piano Designer’ feature that allows you to change and tweak almost every aspect of the piano’s tonal performance to your own tastes.
I’m reluctantly selling it due to a move. I’ve looked after it well – it comes from a pet and smoke-free home. There are very minor cosmetic marks on the case associated with general use, but nothing really noticeable. It’s in perfect working order. Play an orchestra backing part and play the piano part on top of it with your right hand to create a powerful ensemble performance. Since you can alter the key and tempo independently, you can slow down the playback of songs you are learning, or change the key of the song depending on the vocal range.
