Hi….I have called this a piano keyboard because that is the main use I have always put this lovely instrument to. It has some great piano sounds and the one called nice piano is always my go to !
The keyboard has 61 notes all of which are weighted and with additional features such as, velocity and aftertouch settings…… making it a dream and realistic to play on
However, it is more correctly an all-in-one Synth Workstation with professional level sequencing !
I think one of its strengths is the great emulation of acoustic instruments, for example acoustic guitars …….and thereafter the XP 60 can produce realistic sounding orchestras, techno, drums, effects and so much more. The Arpeggiator is great fun too !
The quality of the XP60s output will only be as good as the final amplification used for this keyboard…..so a couple of PC speakers wont really flatter your playing very much! Personally, I drive this through a Roland piano amplifier which is very compact and produces a great sound by filtering out the harsh mid & high frequencies that normal amps produce
For those wishing to see a lot more about the technical features on this keyboard please refer to one of the pictures above…..and finally, this keyboard was built in Japan before Roland started making in China, so top quality build!
As you can imagine, there is an enormous range of permutations of button and slider settings …but the ones Ive tested are working fine
It is a heavy beast, hence the courier charge ….but if local I would be prepared to deliver it within 25 miles of this location for the cost of the petrol
