Schiedmayer Upright Piano in good playing condition. The piano has likely been in Trinity Church, Leeds since it was manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany; the serial number puts production at about 1903. This was the heyday of German piano manufacture, and Schiedmayer had a fine reputation, some felt they were comparable to Steinway; Both Franz Liszt and Clara Schumann were said to endorse them. This piano has a good sonority and the action is well regulated. It will have been frequently maintained being the church piano. The instrument is showing its age generally but could be improved with a little TLC. It was recently removed from Trinity Church, which is currently being refurbished. It can be collected from Birstall (near J.27 M62 / IKEA) at any time, by arrangement. You would be welcome to view, again by arrangement.The piano has sturdy castors fitted but would still need two strong persons and a tail-lift van/truck to remove. It’s stored at ground floor level, in my garage, on a plinth and currently covered by a dust sheet. All proceeds will go to church funds.
