This is a Lammermuir Flatpackorgan that previously made an appearance here on Ebay in kit-form a few months ago. It was originallysold as a complete kit of parts with full instructions for the buyer toconstruct. An ambitious and extremely time-consuming project. This one had beenkept dry in storage waiting to be built for around 12 years. This seller boughtit in a very early stage of construction last September. Now it is being offered for sale again, this timecompleted and working.This seller has spent the last few months acquiring thenecessary knowledge and skills to complete the project. The only part I felt tobe too much of a challenge was the bellows and reservoir, which I have hadprofessionally assembled.Now, having moved house, andbecause there is already a larger organ in the house, I reluctantly need to find a new homefor the Lammermuir.The organ is based on a small17th century 4ft flute organ (51 notes, C to d”’), believed to be by Bernard Smith, that is in thepersonal collection of the late Noel Mander. Wind supply is by means of a single footpedal. There is provision for a small electric blower to be connected which, stillutilising the reservoir, would greatly improve the wind stability, and enablemuch more accurate tuning.Anyone interested in acquiringthis organ as it stands now needs to know that there is still room for some finishing touches. It is finished as far as I can take it, but wind regulation and tuning is atthe moment interesting, not perfect. But it could be.A gorgeous little organ foran enthusiast!The whole thing would fitinto a small estate car. It separates very easily into the base unit (table),the main case, and the lift-off bellows/reservoir unit.I have set a price based onwhat the organ has actually cost me, and not including my time. Because of the considerableman-hours it takes to build such an instrument, if bought from the maker fullyassembled it would cost many times more.
