Small Wooden Upright Piano Antique W.H.Barnes D’Almaine Very Cute. Condition is Used. Collection in person only.
This is a great little piano for a family home. We’re not great musicians and it sounds nice to me but I suspect a professional would tell me it needs a tune (or at least it will do after moving it anyway – you should always tune a piano once it has settled into a new home.)It is small and compact, not overly ornate, and looks really cute in a room. Being a shorter keyboard, the overall weight is more manageable.I originally got it off eBay about 5 years ago because I have always liked the idea of having a piano in the house… To my surprise my daughter really took a liking to it, and is now quite an accomplished self-taught tinker! We have just upgraded her to a lovely Yamaha Arius digital piano so she can record her compositions easier and sadly don’t have the space to keep both.So bit of a reluctant sale, but hopefully it will go to another family and inspire another budding young musician?The piano is on castors so is not too difficult to move around, but you will need some strong friends to lift it into a van. There are also several panels that are removable which could reduce weight for moving.If you’re local you are welcome to come and have a look.Guessing it is probably 50-100 years old? As such it does have wear and tear. The worst area is some veneer breaking off on each edge (see photos) and a few scratches here and there.Smoke free home. RG10 9RD.
