What was done to make it the best it can be. Ask them to take off a hammer, shank and flange. Then hold the flange and let the Hammer Swing. How many times does it Swing. 21,32,10,18,7,3. 2 of these are Performance Level 3. Ask the Technician this question. “How many hours per month do you spend setting Steinway Grand’s Piano to Performance Specification. Most of the Technicians that can truly set up a Steinway to Level 3,4,5 charge $65 to $100 per hour and have been doing this for 30+ years. I have sold Steinway B’s for 43 Years.
