A quality Steinway Model O-180 boudoir grand piano with a polished mahogany case, made in Hamburg circa 1921, serial number 205004. Established in New York in 1853, Steinway and Sons is the worlds pre-eminent piano manufacturer. The original Steinweg family firm had been building high quality pianos in Germany since 1825 before the move to the US and anglicising the name to Steinway. Two manufacturies were founded in New York and the German division in Hamburg where production continues to the present day. The firms instruments have been enjoyed by many illustrious composers including Rachmaninoff, Rubinstein and Liszt.Today, Steinway remains the choice of famous artists and concert halls around the world. Lang Lang, Lady Gaga and Billy Joel are all Steinway artists. A new Model O equivalent Steinway costs in the region of 80,000.
