ELECTRIC SWELL ENGINE
for controlling the shutters of an electric-action pipe organ
This is quite a substantial swell engine, and is of the “Whiffle-Tree” design (the best! invented by Henry Willis I believe) and has eight positions (obviously you can use as few or as many as you wish, or can wire up the magnets in pairs if you want fewer shutter positions)This is not an old swell engine (relatively) as it came from a 1960s Walker Positive Organ, dismantled earlier this year to its constituent parts from a church in Coventry. The organ would have been running on about 3″ pressure.The build quality is good, and the condition is also good. The swell engine is very heavy! It is at my home in West Yorkshire, just minutes from Junction 24 of the M62. If you are a bidder in the South of England and find Yorkshire a bit far, please note that at the end of June I shall be in the Cotswolds, Somerset and Devon, and can bring any pipes or parts with us for customersJust a final note:- Because I have so many other customers, people independent of Ebay, often ask me for a set of pipes or parts while a listing is running.
