This impressive example of the Technics SX-GA3Organ is complemented by a very rare matching pair of original Technics SY-T50 Tonecabinets. The GA3 was ground-breaking and way ahead of its time when launched,and is still in regular use by professional musicians at concert venuesthroughout the UK. The state of the art technology used to sample thesounds made them one of the most popular organs ever made. Even by todaysstandards, the GA3 still packs a serious punch and YouTube hosts many fineexamples of these instruments being put through their paces.
The organ itself features a superb sound system delivering320 watts output, allowing all the effects to sound totally authentic. As onemight imagine, however, the addition of two Technics SY-T50 Tone cabinets addsa completely enhanced dimension and sound experience. Each of the tone cabinetsis powered by three amplifiers (total to 85W), and a 3 channel speaker systemprovides the full range of frequencies from the clean powerful bass to the brilliantlyclear, crisp treble, using a 6 speaker configuration: left and right 16cmmidrange speakers; left and right 6.5cm tweeters; front 30cm Woofer and 6.5cmTweeter.
In addition to the rare matching Technics SY-T50 tonecabinets, the organ also features the added bonus of a USB drive conversion.This allows the storage of up to 100 floppy discs on one USB stick. This isincredible given that one floppy disc typically stores up to 20 registrationfiles. These features really do help to make this GA3something special, and Ill supply a USB stick to get you started.
The organ comes with music stand and ownersmanual, in addition to the original Technics bench which has been customre-upholstered to complement the instrument. There is also the originalTechnics key to lock and unlock the protective roller lid.
The organ was professionally serviced in Januarythis year. This included fitting of the USB conversion and new tempo wheel (encoder).Everything works as it should and as expected, the tempo wheel works like new, extremely responsiveand accurate.
From new, I am the second owner of this organ whichhas had home use only and never been gigged. The instrument is in goodcondition for its age, but has recently suffered a couple of small nicks to thecabinet. Whilst these could be easily blended in, I have left them so that theycan be seen in the photographs. From the front the first scuff can be seen onthe edge of the top panel to the right of the music stand. From the left hadside the second scuff can be seen at the bottom on the edge of the leg. Thereis some slight fingernail marking on the bottom E & F notes on the uppermanual, and the bottom D & F notes on the lower manual.
