Real organ keyboards for Hauptwerk!

This auction is for a two-manual keyboard stack suitable for Hauptwerk etc.

It was made to be used during improvement work on the pipe organ which I

usually play. It is small enough to sit on a desk and could be expanded by

the addition of a pedalboard to provide a useful practice organ for a small

home.

The instrument uses wood-cored keyboards recovered from an old pipe organ.

They have been MIDIfied and mounted in a case made of oak and oak-veneered

board. Twelve thumb buttons have been added which I used as couplers and

generals – but which can be assigned to almost any Hauptwerk function.

The stack plays via a MIDI OUT socket and requires a 9 volt mains power

supply (included). The microprocessor unit mounted inside the stack has a

spare socket which could drive a pedalboard and/or stop jambs.

The keyboards are probably antique. They are made in the traditional way from

wood with black and white coverings applied. The white key tops appear to be

of a natural material; the black ones are of wood.

Size: approx. 880mm wide x 640mm deep x 200mm high.

Other items in the photos are not included. The stack needs to be connected

to further equipment (eg. a suitable computer and software) in order to

produce sound.
