Upright Grand Piano Boyd Ltd of London Walnut with Inlaid Floral Wood Decoration – Iron Frame Action 2 pedals 85 keys evidence of candle sconces
The piano player in the house has now left for university. No one plays it any more and so we have reluctantly decided to sell it. It is a highly attractive piece of furniture. A beautiful high quality Upright Grand Piano with inlaid wood decoration on the front. The main kind of wood looks like walnut and is quality. The music holder can be folded away out of sight beneath the hinged top lid. Likely to date to the early part of 19 century because of the evidence of candle sconces. The keys are in excellent vintage condition with no chips. Due to age some are mildly discoloured but nothing major. Has the key for the keyboard cover. The piano was professionally refurbished recently. The refurbisher took away the internal pianoskey action mechanism and replaced all the wire etc, whilst maintaining its vintage integrity. It was also tuned at the same time, but may need another tune after moving. It would have once had two candle sconces and the little holes are still there. These can be purchased so could be restored. A great quality piano for a beginner or just for enjoying playing. Features: 85 keys (50 white and 35 black)
