EARLY 1890S BLACK RONISCH OVERSTRUNG UNDERDAMPED UPRIGHT PIANOThis is a very reluctant sale of my Very Collectable and Special Ronisch upright Piano that I originally fully restored over 10 years ago. From memory, this is one of the earliest Overstrung. Underdamped Ronischs and Im sure its around 1890.The touch is very light, with a modern feel. It has not been tuned for over 6 years now and it is out of tune now, but there are no slipping pins! Soundboard is perfect, no cracks.I originally refinished the case in black cellulose to allow the original ebony grain to still be slightly seen on the high gloss finish. There are a couple of areas where the original ebony veneer has lifted slightly. This is a very easy fix, with a syringe/needle of wood glue. Just inject the glue and push the veneer back! They really are small areas!I also have some of the original Cellulose black paint left that I will include if you have spraying equipment or just an airbrush to touch up after reglueing the veneer back if it requires it? You could just a small artist paint brush as it dries in seconds! It does need two new strings in the middle to base area as you will see in the photos. I was waiting until I came across some old strings to avoid retuning new ones in, but gave up restoring pianos when the market collapsed and my last two pianos went to France & Germany for bargain prices! My Daughter actually helped me with this piano and redid all the gold detailing when she was at school, so it still holds sentimental value, which is one reason why I have held on to it for so long.
I have started it at what I would say is a fair price for the amount of work that went into this piano. My wife now wants her cold North Facing Conservatory back, now I have installed a Small Wood Burner in there for this winter. She wants to see a TV on the wall where it is situated now.I will also be advertising a complete 1930s Broadwood Baby Grand Piano Action with a perfect set of keys and hammers. That will require complete adjustment, but is in perfect condition!
Also a black Ibach Double Overstrung Baby Grand that requires full restoration, Bechstein Model III, Rosewood Bluthner Aliquot 63 or 69? as I no longer have the time to spend on refurbishing Pianos
