This is a very nice Hammond A-100 in working order. I have owned it for 20 years, and before that it was owned by a couple who had it from new, I believe. It was made in the early 1960s, I think. It’s in good condition and has been played at home only. There are scratches on the music stand and in front of the keyboard, but apart from that the cabinet is in good condition. I think it’s red mahogany wood, but don’t quote me on that. The organ has the original back panel.
The A-100 has an internal speaker but otherwise has the same controls and internals as a B-3 or C-3, so it has that classic Hammond sound. The drawbars, vibrato, percussion, etc. all work fine. The built-in reverb is not working. There is a box installed beneath the keyboard with a jack socket and a switch to turn the internal speaker off. You can use the jack to play through headphones or to plug the organ into an external amplifier if you want. You can also connect a Leslie cabinet such as a 147 using a hookup box plugged into the socket on the rear of the organ. The internal speaker sounds great and is loud, so I have usually used it that way.
The pedals are included; they are in working order and still have the original protective paper covering on. The Hammond bench in matching wood is also included. There is a Hammond rhythm unit installed under the keyboard which lights up but produces no sound; maybe it needs plugging in internally.
The A-100 is a lovely thing, and playing it is a joy. I’m genuinely sad to be parting with it, but I am moving and won’t have the room.
