Vintage Leslie 145 speaker. Mechanically this works with both the horn speakers and lower drum both revolving and when the choral switch on the organ is flicked, this works and the speed changes on both at it should, but there is NO SOUND. Have replaced one of the tubes with a new one on the Leslie amp as this wasn’t working as it should and had hoped that this might be the problem, but it didn’t fix unfortunately.
Have also done a continuity check on the output cable from the organ to the Leslie and that seemed fine. It is possible though that the organ side of things is not powering the Leslie sound wise and that the Leslie is fine?, I just don’t know I’m afraid and it might be an easy fix or not needed at all? As I’m not qualified or have the time to investigate further though, I’m listing it as a Leslie 145 that turns mechanically when powered up, but NOT SOUNDING and have priced it to what I think is fair in this condition and related to what these usually go for.
The case it self has some age related patina – and where someone has parked their cup of tea! – and general age related marks but please see the photos that cover the front, back and side angles – and if you are particular, it would be nice to strip back to wood and revarnish/refurbish maybe? Overall though, still a good solid unit that was only used rarely in the home and in my father’s possession for the last 20 + years. It’s pretty heavy though and someone has likened it to being ‘washing machine’ sized and you will need of a suitable sized vehicle to transport it. I also have a Hammond T202 that is also being listed at the moment that came with this Leslie – whilst I still have this, or until it is sold?, I can demonstrate the Leslie working but won’t be able to if the organ sells but will video it working just for the record.
Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire and it will have to go down one flight of stairs as this is in a flat above a shop so it will need more then one person to carry down but I will also help though, if extra hands are needed. Thanks for looking.
