We are very proud to offer this lovely modern upright piano by the highly respected British manufacturer, Welmar. Welmar were produced in London byWhelpdale, Maxwell & Codd Ltd (WMC), who were originally founded in 1876. Welmar had a reputation for building high quality, stable pianos with a very fine touch and tone. WMC was originally the U.K agent for the prominent German manufacturer, Blthner. WMC learned a great deal from this close working relationship and incorporated many characteristics and designs – otherwise unique to Blthner – into their own pianos. The ‘royal blue’ felt (known as ‘Blthner Blue’) which is used to decorate Welmar pianos is symbolic of the association between the two manufacturers. Welmar pianos have always been an integral part of our stock, appreciated by students and teachers alike for their responsiveness of touch and the signature delicacy and clarity of tone. These instruments were meticulously handbuilt in a traditional manner by craftsmen devoted to the art of piano construction.The results were these wonderfully expressive instruments which have continued to be a favoured choice. Designed mainly for the professional, the Model C is among the largest upright pianos from the Welmar range and is housed in the same desired case style as the A2. The excellent utilization of space in this upright delivers a great string length and a large soundboard area to produce the highest possible standard of tonal quality and volume.
