Thisis a beautiful upright piano made by White’s Music (Ltd), Chesterfield with 85 keys and has wonderful inlaid detail in the centre of the piano. The piano does have quite a bit of damage, but this would be an excellent restoration project. All of the piano keys work except for the very top G# which needs to be struck hard to make a sound and the piano does require tuning. The sustain pedal works, but the damper pedal does not appear to be working. Item Condition: This piano does require refurbishment. It is beautiful and deserves some TLC to give it a new lease of life. The trim to life the lid has broken off at one end and there are some small holes in the top of the piano (see photos). The cloth on the back of the piano is torn and very thin in places and the wood has various scratches on it from wear and tear – again, this is shown in the photos. All of the keys play (and feel pleasant to play) except the very top G# key which needs to be struck hard to make a sound. The sustain pedal works, but the damper pedal would need to be fixed to make it operational again. There are two pieces of wood which have come off the side of the lids, but these could be replaced. The wooden veneer inlay is beautiful and richly coloured, drawing the eye and making you want to give this piano a play.
