Here is a great example of a Wurlitzer EP206A console electric piano from 1976, driven by a refurbed original solid state 20W amplifier, and aux/line out 1/4″ socket for recording/extra amplification. Twin 8″speakers are inside.Such models are rare in Europe. They were never generally exported, only by special order.. Size-wise, they are the same as a “stage” EP200A, but much heavier. As never “gigged”, such pianos play “like new”…the action parts & keys are in a superb condition..
“Perfect Ten” by Beautiful South is a great example of a decent Wurli EP. It runs on 120Vac, with correct fuse & supresser…and the reed-bar kit and hum shield will ensure maximum protection from the inherent ethereal interference, peculiar to all Wurlitzer pianos……so keep your mobile phone well away! Special mains cable and voltage convertor 120<>220V are supplied.
History:- sourced from a music store in Oregon, July 2019. Was originally used by a college as a classroom piano. Sticker is still attached……
Condition:- keys are excellent ~ beige/tan lid is uncracked ~ piano benefits from a 2-day full mechanical service, so all keys are regulated, non-lazy, with new damper grommets fitted, every reed carefully checked & voiced.
NOTE:- actual piano is being refurbed as you read this…..photos are BEFORE anything has been done…..
PLEASE READ THIS <> ALL EP pianos require regular servicing. They are genuine pianos inside, with whips, butts & hammers etc….every assembly has 50 parts (64 all together). The amplifiers inside are all over 40 years old; its just a matter of time before they will fail, due to simple old age…..time and time and time again, I have to repair such instruments, bought by people who think they know best, and buy as cheap as possible…..charges are from 200 – 500…..so think on. You pay for what you get..
