For sale is my Yamaha Clavinova CLP-950. I bought this new and to my eternal shame have played it very little. It is in perfect working order. The finish is dark Rosewood and in excellent condition. I have tried to show the colour in the first two pictures – one with flash, one without. The actual colour is somewhere between the two.
It comes with original instruction manual and the book of 50 pieces that are pre-programmed into the piano. There is also a great stack of other music, both classical and contemporary.
Also a pair of very expensive Sennheiser HD580 Precision headphones is included.
..and of course the stool.
The piano has two headphone sockets for both player and tutor if needed.
The CLP-950 was well up the range of Yamaha pianos. An 88 key fully graded hammer keyboard (the harder you press the louder the note)
Three pedals – soft mute and sostenuto.
There are 12 voices including two grand pianos, two electric pianos, harpsichord, church organ etc. The full range can be seen in one of the photos. There is built in metronome. It is possible to transpose the sounds so you can create a honkytonk bar room sound if you wish.
There are also many other ways of fine tuning the sound to how you prefer.
There are 50 tunes of varying degrees of difficulty programmed in. You can listen to these to help learn them. you can set the piano to play just the left or just the right hand whist you play the other to aid learning too.
There is a record facility, so you can listen to what you have been playing.
The piano sound is superb, playing through large speakers in the base.The sound is produced form samples recorded form a full concert grand piano. Extended polyphony allows notes to sustain for much longer while other notes are played without them being cut off which is a feature of lesser pianos.
Two separate voices can be played simultaneously, and the keyboard can also be split so each hand plays a separate instrument.

It is 137cm long, 504cm deep and 84cm high with the music stand. It weights 68kg. The top section can be removed from the base for easier transportation.
