Yamaha EZ-220 Keyboardwith Original BoxFeaturing fantastic play-along, backing track and light-upkeys functionsFor 4 years I’ve ownedthis super keyboard and in my progressions as a pianist and musician I feltlike the time has come to upgrade. With a full 5 octaves of range (c3 to c8) the EZ-220 is anamazing opportunity for young keyboard players and pianists alike. The onscreenset up allows you to visualise notes in a sheet music fashion (on staves) and Iwould add this has aided me tremendously in my site reading over the years.Very intuitive withsongs that the keyboard can teach you with its red light-up keys. I learned FurElise using this method and some of Nocturne Number 9. Other tracks on thekeyboard include 3 blind mice and the entertainer.Lots of fun and different voicings, the standard classicalpiano, strings, guitars and basses, brass and wind instruments (my favouritesare the synthesizers though!)The ACMP (accompaniment)setting is incredible too! When activated with a backing track from the STYLEfunction, melodies and improvisation can be practised (as well as messing aroundwith the cool dance tracks!). The simple metronome function with an adjustable timesignature and tempo is great to use for brushing up on your timekeeping if yourein a band.I never really cameround to understanding what the SONG section (along with STYLE and VOICE) ofthe interface was meant for as the other two had clear uses and application butmaybe you can mess around with it more than I did and discover something. This is not brand new and I have done my best to list theissues below. For a start you will need a new Yamaha adaptor plug/lead. I will giveyou the original one that came with it but it is temperamental and needsreplacing. Theseare 5 to 10 on eBay. I can confirm that it works with a new adaptor lead asit works with the plug of my new keyboard. Or you can use batteries but it ispretty thirsty with batteries so I would not recommend this. The other negatives are listed below. The Negatives:The power button oftentakes a few attempts to turn on the instrument, and also it no longer turns thekeyboard off. You have to switch it off at the socket or remove the batteries whenyouve finished playing. 7 of the black keys areloose, still functioning I hasten to add, but loose and you can feel it whenplaying (or I can anyway).Despite the shortfalls, this is a great keyboard forlearning on and of course you can use headphones so you can practice withoutannoying mum & dad. I would love to find this keyboard a new beginner to makesome new memories with. Please do not hesitateto email with any questions,Thank you.
