Yamaha U1 Kaiser Modern Upright Piano Professional Level
Make no mistake – this is a genuine Japanese Yamaha U1 made in their Hamamatsu factory, branded Kaiser. In the 1970s & 80s Yamaha used the Kaiser name for some European exports as they had not yet achieved their well deserved exceptional reputation and Germanic sounding names were sometimes more sought after. The action and hammers are marked Yamaha and Nippon Gakki can be seen cast into the frame. In 1887 Mr Yamaha founded Nippon Gakki Co.Ltd. = The Japan Instrument Co.Ltd. Yamaha remained the brand name and in 1987 the company name was changed to Yamaha Corporation to mark the 100th anniversary of the firm.
This is a late 1970s / early 1980s model which has been very well looked after and played infrequently purchased for my daughter to learn to play – she never took to it and whilst I had good intentions to learn too – I just never found the time. So, it’s time it had a new home!!. This is an excellent quality piano that would suit a professional musician, advanced pianist, teacher or a serious amateur or perhaps a very lucky beginner!
Lovely bright black polyester finish that is in excellent condition. It will look fantastic in a modern or classic styled home. It is on casters, which have been oiled and move well.
