The sound of the piano has been digitally sampled and stored so that, for example, when you play a C on a Yamaha digital piano, you hear the C played on the grand piano. But there’s much more to it than that. The sound of a piano changes depending on how hard you play the keys; this instrument recreates this effect as you play thanks to its touch-sensitive keyboard. Why is the feel of the keyboard so important? A piano must sound good but experienced pianists will tell you that how the keyboard reacts as you play is equally important. Some digital pianos may sound good but they do not feel and respond like an acoustic instrument. Yamahas know-how in acoustic piano manufacturing has been used to develop digital pianos with an authentic feel and response. A wide range of sound options The P-45 has 10 high quality sounds available to the player including grand pianos, electric pianos, pipe organs, strings and harpsichord. Speakers and Headphones The P-45 has a built-in 6 W x 2 amplifier and speaker system. You can also connect a pair of headphones to the P-45 in order to practise in private or link the instrument to an external P.A. system for on-stage use. The Sound The Feel The Sounds Speakers and Headphones More Features Adjustable Touch Sensitivity The touch sensitivity of the keyboard can be adjusted or even turned off completely which is useful for anyone who cannot press the keys firmly. The P-45 also has a transpose facility to enable a song to be played in any key which is useful for accompanying singers or other instruments. There is also a fine tuning control. Duo and Dual Modes Using Dual mode, two voices can be combined together to create a layered sound.
