This keyboard is a 76 key, quality sounding, space saving, lightweight keyboard with high quality Voices samples from the Yamaha Concert Grand and can also connect to an iOS Device for use with Yamaha Apps. For its price and size, this NP32 provides excellent tones sampled from the widely respected Yamaha concert grand piano and right through to the smooth electric piano along with other great-sounding Voices which are very fun to play. Compared to other keyboards, this NP-32 provides a more realistic feel to the keys, similar to that of a grand piano. This is achieved through the Graded Soft Touch keyboard feature where the keys in the bass register have a heavier feel, while the high notes are lighter.
Top Panel
This NP-32 keeps it simple with one knob and just 10 buttons which can be used in combination with the actual keys to perform a wide variety of functions, which makes it suitable and simple for beginners to use but still with plenty of settings and functions which are very useful to keyboardists who play at a higher level such as at gigs or performances. Firstly, you have the volume knob to control the volume of the overall sound. Then you have the power, demo and metronome buttons. Next you have the four buttons to control what Voices you are using, where you have two voices to choose from per button. Here, press any of the four buttons to switch to another voice assigned to that button or press the same button again to switch to the second voice assigned to that button. After that, you have your record button where you simply press it and it will record whatever you are playing, then you can press the play button to playback what you have recorded. You also have onboard speakers which makes the keyboard even more portable because it means that you do not have to be carrying around an external amplifier or speaker to every gig or performance or if you are practicing at home.
Rear Panel
Again this NP-32 keeps it simple with a D.C. power cable input (power cable included) and a phones output jack for connecting headphones which can also be used to connect to speakers, amplifiers and mixers for use in a gig, performance or just for use at home. This keyboard can also work as a midi keyboard because of the really useful USB to HOST port where you can use this NP-32 with a DAW such as GarageBand, Logic, Mainstage, etc. Then you have the port for the sustain pedal (included).
Using this keyboard you are also able to customise the octave shift, reverb type, reverb depth, how the keyboard is tuned, the touch sensitivity and you can transpose.
