Has been in storage for the last 20 years, home use only, never gigged. Condition physically very good but the usual age issues are present. Disk drive doesnt work, no doubt a failed belt. There is one vertical pixel line in the display that fails intermittently. Otherwise everything is okay – all buttons, keys and LEDs checked. Amazingly even the display backlight still works!
The internal battery is dead – a message about replacing it comes up on startup. Instructions for replacement are readily found online; this does require opening the case and a little disassembly and soldering. Without a functioning battery it wont store internal voices and other settings. This seems to have the effect of raising the tuning by 63 semitones on startup – which can be reset to zero in the Utility menu.
There seems to be a little output noise, rather like a quantisation effect, that follows the sound envelope but is only really noticeable during the release phase as the level tails off. It may well be that this is a symptom of the dead battery.
Includes Drum sounds wave and voice card, and original manual and algorithm chart.
This sale is really aimed at the professional musician / synth enthusiast who would be prepared to put a little time into the machine.
Collection possible from OX29, Witney, Oxfordshire if preferred.
