Young Chang U109 Compact Modern Upright Piano
Welcome to Berries Barn Pianos – specialising in high quality modern uprights, fully serviced and tuned and carefully delivered to their new homes.
This is a very good quality compact upright piano made by the well regarded Young Chang company in South Korea. Young Chang have previously made pianos for Yamaha, among other big names, and are very popular among musicians and teachers for their action and tone.
Fully serviced and tuned to concert pitch, this is a lovely looking and sounding piano – great for beginners and intermediate players, or indeed more advanced pianists with limited space. The tone is much bigger than you would expect from a small upright and it is a joy to play.

Tone and tuning
It has a big and rounded tone with great balance between brightness and warmth, and a very good dynamic range for a small piano. The tone in the bass is also unusually good for an upright of this size. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440) prior to sale.
Keyboard and action
The 85 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the action has been regulated so plays smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight action.
Hammers and strings
Not very much wear in the hammers at all – it has certainly not been played heavily but has been well looked after and tuned regularly.
Sound board
Excellent condition, no cracks or splits.
Case
Stylish high gloss black polyester case in excellent condition – the odd small mark here and there but nothing very noticeable at all.
Dimensions – approx 48cm deep, 130.5 wide, 109 tall – quite compact so will fit into tight spaces.
